Charity Donations

ReTreat's 8th Birthday – June 2024

To keep with tradition ReTreat donated 8% of its monthly profits to a charity nominated by one of its clients. A total of £150 went to The Russell Martin Foundonation which was kindly donated by Jason Bradshaw.

ReTreat's 7th Birthday – June 2023

ReTreat celebrated yet another birthday and wanted to continue with its annual tradition of donating to a local charity nominated by one of its clients. This year the donation was for 7% of its monthly profits, this totalled £125.

The lucky charity was Martlets kindly nominated by Sophie Talbot.

ReTreat's 6th Birthday – June 2022

ReTreat continued with its annual tradition by both donating £60 donations to 3 local charities and asking clients to bring in food for a local food bank. Clients were again asked to nominate local charities and the 3 lucky charities were:

Age Uk West Sussex – nominated by Helen Rice

Knight Support – nominated by Lesley Torn

Together Co – nominated by April Baker

Hangleton Food bank – (nominated by Kathryn Stanley) received the food donation

ReTreat's 5th Birthday – June 2021

It was fantastic to be able to treat clients again and celebrate in person ReTreat’s 5th Birthday. This time I sent out an email to every ReTreat client and posted a birthday message on social media. For everyone who replied to the birthday message or email, £1 was donated. I asked my clients to nominate a local charity and April Baker was the lucky winner with her nomination for Justlife Foundation (a charity supporting homeless people in Brighton) receiving a cheque for £130.

ReTreat's 4th Birthday – June 2020

Due to lock-down ReTreat was not able to open but this did not stop ReTreat donating to local people. To celebrate its 4th Birthday ReTreat donated 4 x 60min treatments to people who have made the world a better place during the very challenging time of the COVID crisis. These lucky recipients were nominated by ReTreat’s clients and 4 lucky names were picked out of a hat.

ReTreat's 3rd Birthday - June 2019

ReTreat again celebrated its birthday (3rd) by donating £3 for every 60min+ treatment from 28th June to 27th July 2019. One of ReTreats clients (Neil Morgan) nominated Emmaus as the benefiting charity. It was a pleasure to hand over a cheque for £175.

November 2018 Advent Food Bank Calendar Collection

During November ReTreat asked its clients to bring in food items to be added to its Advent Food Bank Calendar Collection. As a result Brighton Food Bank received 34kgs in groceries and £10 in cash donations. This means that local people who are on the edge of poverty that have been referred to the service will have a happier Christmas.

ReTreat’s 2nd Birthday - June 2018

To celebrate ReTreat’s second birthday (June 2018) I donated £2 for every treatment that I gave from 28th June to 27th July 2018 resulting in ‘The Purple People Kitchen Food Bank’ based at the Town Hall in Portslade (nominated by Jane Roddie) receiving a cheque for £166.

ReTreat would not have been as successful without the support I have received from my local community. As a ‘Thank You’ I plan to give an annual donation (starting July 2017) to a charity, nominated by one of my clients, to celebrate ReTreat’s birthday. I know there are many charities that have a personal meaning to my clients.
